The stresses and strains of our lives often lead us to develop unconscious habits in our posture and movement that restrict our innate ease, grace, flexibility and co-ordination.
We experience the results of these habits - our neck hurts, our back is in spasm, our shoulders feel tense.
The Alexander Technique teaches us:
- to recognise what we're doing so that we can go beyond our old, limiting approach and recognise that we have a choice
- how to minimise chronic muscular tension.
- It encourages: lengthening of the spine, ease of breathing, greater bodily movement and flexibility and freedom.
|
This makes it beneficial not only for back problems but also
for the relief of stress, asthma, tension-related migraine, depression
and insomnia. We offer classes at all levels and through them, you will discover
how to apply this awareness and increased freedom in your everyday
life.
You will need to wear loose clothing and bring a blanket or
mat and 2-3 paperback books.
